ADOR‘s CEO, Min Hee Jin, troubled by the ongoing feud with HYBE, found herself in a situation again…
…when @1mmimbox, an Instagram account posting viral content, got a “Like” from the CEO for a short video capturing ILLIT members repeating the word “kalguksu.”
The video—now with 1.7M+ views—came from ILLIT’s self-produced content, in which the members shared their preferences for food items. When it came time to choose between kalguksu noodles and braised galbi, all members except Yunah went for kalguksu.
While the video, when it was first released, seemed harmless, it sparked controversial allegations when NewJeans members’ parents called out the possible dig at Minji‘s past issue.
Here’s What NewJeans Minji’s “Kalguksu Controversy” Is And How It Started
The parents expressed concern over the video, pointing out how it seemed to welcome gossip and controversy.
But ILLIT’s self-produced content had scenes that could be used for gossip. I felt it was inappropriate that ILLIT’s content produced by BELIFT brought this incident up. As I feared, I saw that the scenes were used in online posts mocking NewJeans. All of this was planned and produced by HYBE’s internal production team and was not filtered or edited, which is disappointing.

So when Min Hee Jin’s Instagram handle @min.hee.jin was spotted in the “Likes” for the post…
…the internet went wild. The comments, pointing out Min Hee Jin’s presence, came flooding in.
- “Min Hee Jin liked this… LMAO.”
- “The fact that CEO Min Hee Jin like this, though. LOL.”
- “Liked by Min Hee Jin.”
- “This got liked by Min Hee Jin.”
Not too long after the “Like,” Min Hee Jin responded to a DM telling her that she “might have accidentally liked something.” In her response, the CEO acknowledged that she looked at the post, but liked it by accident.
Fan: CEO-nim, I think you might have accidentally liked something.
Min Hee Jin: Yes, other Bunnies have let me know about the Like, too. A fan DMed me the link to that post, asking me to take a look. So I looked at it. But I did not “Like” it. I believe the heart was double-tapped by mistake. Thank you for letting me know, though.
The screenshot of the DM also quickly circulated online, with Koreans relating to the CEO’s explanation.
- “Accidentally double-tapping a post that someone sent? I f*cking feel that 100%.”
- “I like a lot of things by accident, too.”
- “No, but for real. Instagram makes it super easy to like sh*t by mistake. Sometimes, when I’m looking through my activities, I have a bunch of posts that I do not recall liking. Haha.”
- “LOL. This is funny.”
- “It’s honestly too easy to like stuff by accident on Instagram. It’s annoying.”
- “Sigh… I made a similar mistake not too long ago. I liked something on my ex’s feed… Put me in a very uncomfortable situation, f*ck.”
At the same time, some Koreans took the incident as a chance to pitch ILLIT/HYBE against NewJeans/ADOR again—bringing up ILLIT’s similar mistake.
