The person allegedly behind a video accusing NewJeans of plagiarism revealed themselves.
On May 24, an online post titled “The Person Suspected Of Making The NewJeans ‘How Sweet’ Plagiarism Video” went viral. In the post, a netizen uploaded another post from the controversial and chauvinistic website DC Inside.
HYBE Accused Of Sabotaging NewJeans’ Comeback Just Hours After Release
In the DC Inside post, a netizen writes that they were the one who had made the video. In their post, the DC Inside user claims they made the video in 2 hours, seemingly addressing the many fans who initially suspected HYBE of being the one to release it.
I made the song in just two hours after it was released. The song was so bad, I wondered to myself, f*ck do I really have to do this? LOL.

The DC Inside user then goes on to claim they were spurred on by Min Hee Jin’s press conference to make the video.
But during your 2 hour tearfest, you said that (K-Pop) should never ever be similar. And so I made it.

For context, DC Inside is one of Korea’s most controversial online communities. Considered to be on par with ILBE, the community is known to produce incels and trolls who subscribe to toxic misogyny. The community gained even more infamy recently when trolls posted knife threats on the community’s bulletin boards.
Anonymous Online Community Is Under Fire For Being A Popular Source Of Recent Knife-Stabbing Warnings And Threats
Unsurprisingly, the DC Inside community has been heavily biased towards HYBE in their dispute against Min Hee Jin despite overwhelming public support for the ADOR CEO. The community’s hate lies in the fact that Min Hee Jin is a woman who is seen as the most influential CEO and creative mind in K-Pop, an industry dominated by men. Min Hee Jin’s comments about Gaejussis, or f*cking old men, were particularly unpopular on the site.
Previously, a video claiming NewJeans’ latest song “How Sweet” had plagiarized went viral. The video claimed that the song’s melody as well as its iconic Miami Bass/House Drum pattern, was plagiarism despite it having been used in classic songs.
Initially, many fans believed that HYBE was behind the video because it was uploaded just hours after NewJeans’ songs were released.
- “Is the account owner HYBE?”
- “Wow, it has only been a few hours, I knew (HYBE) would do something like this.”
- “The thing that pisses me off even more is that I feel this is a HYBE account acting like a LE SSERAFIM fan, lol.”
- “I heard Olivia Rodrigo is coming to Korea to receive payment for plagiarizing her.”
- “It’s not even similar to begin with… For there to even be a debate, the evidence should be as strong as LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT’s own plagiarism. This, however, is the epitome of misinformation, yet you guys are the only ones winding yourselves up.”
- “Tearnot, f*ck, lol. Are you guys comedians or trying to be serious? LOL.”
- “Si Hyuk…”
Netizens reacted to the post with disgust and shock at the revelation.
- “Look how low they’ll go, lol.”
- “That community smells like old men.”
- “Ewww, I saw something dirty (DC Inside post). Why are they living like that?”
- “No wonder it was pissing me off.”
- “Sigh… Ew.”
- “The vibes of the posts on that site are ㅠㅠ. Sigh.”
- “All the ajussi’s are on LE SSERAFIM’s side. Those psychos.”
- “All of the posts seem like it was made by solitary old men.”
- “ILLIT fandom’s image is ruined… They are all 40-50 year old men.”
- “LOL!”
- “I thought the posts smelled like old men. I wonder why they live like that, lol.”
