Sixteen teams have emerged from the first round of the 2024 NCAA softball tournament and will continue their journeys to the Women’s College World Series through the super regionals. Eight schools will host best-of-three game series to determine the teams that will compete for a national title in Oklahoma City.
No. 1 Texas is still the tournament favorite after outscoring opponents 26-2 in the Austin Regional, including two no-hitters. No. 3 Tennessee didn’t allow a single run in its regional and No. 2 Oklahoma narrowly avoided the if-necessary game on Sunday with a 3-2 win in its second game against Oregon in the Norman Regional.
Arizona and Baylor are the two remaining unseeded teams to make it out of their respective regionals. Four Big 12 teams and seven SEC teams advanced to the supers, and Arizona, UCLA and Stanford are the final representatives from the Pac-12.
