When the Detroit Lions revealed their 2024 schedule last week, it did not include the exact dates and times for the team’s preseason slate. However, that was finalized on Tuesday.
The Lions will travel to meet the New York Giants in Week 1 on Thursday, Aug. 8, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. Week 2 will feature a matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 4 p.m. at Arrowhead Stadium.
Finally, the Lions will wrap up their preseason at home in Week 3 on Saturday, Aug. 24, versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kickoff for that contest will be at 1 p.m.

According to Justin Rogers of The Detroit News, the Lions are expected to hold joint practices with the Giants before the preseason Week 1 game.
“Tentatively, right now, I’ve been talking to (Giants coach Brian) Daboll,” head coach Dan Campbell said in March. “So I think there’s a chance we could go to New York.”
Campbell also noted that he’s hoping to get more joint practices with another team on the preseason slate.
“Whoever we match up with in Week 2, I would love to do two weeks (of joint practices) again, like we did last year,” he added. “It’ll be predicated on who that is and whether we go to them or they come to us. But yeah, I’m all for it.”
