Seize the Grey seized the day, winning the 2024 Preakness Stakes.
After failing to qualify for the Kentucky Derby, Seize the Grey was an underdog going into the second leg of the Triple Crown. Closing at 9-1 odds, the winning horse was an afterthought before the race started.
Those who took a flier on Seize the Grey were quickly rewarded. The grey horse was shot out of a cannon right out of the gate, jumping out to an early lead that he wouldn’t surrender.
Jockey Jaime Torres led his horse to a wire-to-wire victory, as Seize the Grey held off a late push from the Kentucky Derby winner and Preakness Stakes favorite Mystik Dan to pull off a shocking win.
