Tiger Woods has historically done well at the PGA Championship.
He’s won four titles, which ranks as the third most all-time, and one of those came at the same course he’s playing on today: Valhalla Golf Club.
Woods took home his second PGA Championship in 2000 at Valhalla, solidifying the tournament as one of the most memorable of his career.

2000 – Tiger Woods chased Bob May’s junior records in Southern California, but the two had never met in competition. That changed at Valhalla Golf Club in what many call the greatest final-day duel in PGA Championship history. #PGA100

Now, 24 years later, the 48-year-old is looking to tie Walter Hagen and Jack Nicklaus with five PGA Championship wins. His Round 1 performance was nothing to brag about, but it wasn’t a dreadful day either.
Woods sits in the middle of the pack at 1-over par, 10 strokes behind Xander Schauffele who leads at 9-under. It’s not an impossible feat to overcome this deficit, but the crawl back to the top must begin Friday in Round 2.
Woods has to capitalize on his birdie opportunities and limit how many times he gives himself tough shots. He will continue his PGA Championship run at 2:49 p.m. ET on Friday, May 17.
