Less than 24 hours ago, fromis_9‘s Chaeyoung worried fans after sending messages to them on Weverse regarding the group’s long hiatus period.
I wanna change my Weverse profile picture. I wanna promote soon so that I can change it to a promotion (comeback teaser) picture. Why is it that we’re always… I wanna promote… Why are we the only ones to have long hiatuses? Why only Fromis_9… It’s so sad…I have FLOVERs , I have FLOVERs , I have fans too, We have FLOVERs…
— Chaeyoung (fromis_9)
It has been almost a year since fromis_9 had their last comeback with Unlock My World in June 2023, and since then, there has been little activity from the girl group. Compared to other artists at HYBE Labels, many of whom are almost worryingly busy, the contrast to fromis_9’s inactivity is even more apparent.
Understandably fans have been upset for the members for their lack of promotions, and with Chaeyoung’s concerning message, that worry has only grown.
However, not too long after Chaeyoung shared her concerns, she came back on the social media platform to apologize. She shares that she worried that she “hurt some people” and “will talk more carefully from now on”, which isn’t the kind of thing that fans usually like to hear.
Fans of the group and Chaeyoung don’t see why she felt the need to apologize, and many assume that their label, Pledis Entertainment (or HYBE Labels), made her do so. And it certainly hasn’t stopped people from worrying about her, based on the comments being made on a Reddit post about the apology.
We hope that Chaeyoung and the other members of fromis_9 don’t have negative repercussions from this incident, and that they’re able to properly promote again soon.
