The first round of the 2024 NFL Draft was all about offense.
On Thursday night, NFL teams set a new record by selecting 23 offensive players, including a run of 14 straight offensive prospects to start the first round before the Colts picked UCLA’s Laiatu Latu at No. 15. Six quarterbacks came off the board, tying the record that was set during the 1983 NFL Draft.

As expected, the Bears got their guy with the No. 1 overall pick, taking USC star Caleb Williams. Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye then joined the Commanders and Patriots, respectively, before the Cardinals broke up the QB party by acquiring Marvin Harrison Jr.
The biggest surprise of the first round came when the Falcons landed Michael Penix Jr. at No. 8. Atlanta acquired Kirk Cousins earlier this offseason, so adding Penix to the roster created some confusion. Cousins was reportedly “shocked” and “disappointed” by the pick.
In general, though, most fans seemed to be satisfied with how their squads approached the draft. Every team has the best record in the league before the season starts, right?
