Can anyone prevent a Celtics vs. Nuggets matchup in the 2024 NBA Finals?
Boston (64-18) dominated its opponents throughout the season, finishing 14 wins ahead of the No. 2 Knicks in the Eastern Conference standings. This year marked the first time that the Celtics eclipsed 60 wins since the 2008-09 campaign.
Denver finished with the same record as Oklahoma City (57-25) in the Western Conference, but the Thunder secured the top seed via the head-to-head tiebreaker. Still, the Nuggets are the reigning champions, and with Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray leading the way, eliminating them from the bracket will be no easy task.
Unsurprisingly, then, Boston and Denver are considered the betting favorites to reach the final round of the postseason. But as we learned as recently as last year, you can never rule out other contenders or overlook a highly motivated underdog.
