Raphinha gave Barcelona a 1-0 halftime lead at Paris Saint-Germain in their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal.
PSG, led by former Barca boss Luis Enrique, made the more authoritative start but the visitors almost led midway through the opening period when Nuno Mendes cleared Robert Lewandowski’s header off the line from Ilkay Gundogan’s corner.
Gianluigi Donnarumma misjudged that delivery and the PSG goalkeeper was partly culpable on the goal, failing to deal with Lamine Yamal’s low cross under pressure from Lewandowski. It left Raphinha to smartly dispatch the loose ball into the top corner for his first Champions League goal.

PSG vs Barcelona live updates, highlights, and commentary
90th minute+3: Mbappe, surely him if anyone… oh, shot deflected just wide. Dembele’s corner pings into Ter Stegen’s gloves.
90th minute: There’ll be four minutes of stoppage time.
88th minute: Christensen has scored what might turn out to be the winner but he’s booked for a foul on Zaire-Emery that means he’ll miss next week’s second leg.
87th minute: Dembele again. He gets caught between a cross and a shot and a flying Mbappe can’t get there.
85th minute: Changes for the last knockings of a thriller. Gundogan makes way for Fermin, while Ramos is on up front for PSG, with midfielder Ruiz making way.
77th minute: GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!!!!! Andreas Christensen!!!!
Christensen does have an instant impact! It’s rank marking from PSG and Donnarumma again fails to cover himself in glory as the Denmark international heads home.
76th minute: Cross towards Ferran who was poised to have an instant impact before Nuno Mendes cleared behind.
75th minute: Dembele hits the post! The ex-Barca man did everything right, opened up his body and steered past Ter Stegen only to see his shot clip the outside of the upright. A double change for Barca as Ferran and Christensen replace Raphinha and De Jong.
74th minute: Gundogan leaves Barca’s latest raid forward. It ends with Joao Felix drawing a routine save from Donnarumma.
71st minute: Barcola darts in behind Cancelo. Araujo gets back for some more last-ditch action but Barca are still struggling to handle this strikerless, fluid PSG forward line.
70th minute: Donnarumma holds on to a low shot. Which is just as well because he was barking all sorts at his wall.
69th minute: Lewandowski draws a foul about 30 yards from goal. Hand position. Raphinha kisses the ball and spots it. I don’t think it’ll be a cross…
66th minute: A quarter of the game to go, we’ve had 25 goal attempts so far. Not bad.
62nd minute: GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!!!!! Raphinha!!!!
WHAT AN INTRODUCTION FOR PEDRI. The Spain midfielder lofts an outrageous pass over the PSG defence and Raphinha finds he finish to match, volleying home with the outside of his boot. An utterly stunning goal.
61st minute: A double change from Xavi, who has decided Pedri has half an hour in him. He’s on for Sergi Roberto, with Joao Felix replacing Lamine Yamal.
57th minute: Araujo throws himself into a desperate challenge to block a Ruiz shot. The Uruguay defender then has to turn an Mbappe cross behind. Barca in all sorts of strife right now.
56th minute: Barcola hits the bar! My word, what is going on here? Mbappe rips storms forward, tees up the substitute and Ter Stegen touches his strike behind via the crossbar.
52nd minute: Robert Lewandowski, what have you done?!?! Barca looking to get right back on terms and Yamal curls in an inviting ball from the left. Lewandowski looks certain to score but he gets ahead of the bal and misjudges his header entirely.
50th minute: GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!!!!! Vitinha!!!!
What a turnaround from PSG! A slick move, with Lee to the fore on the right. They pull Barca apart and Vitinha bursts into the box to slot home.

48th minute: GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!!!!! Ousmane Dembele!!!!
What an incredible finish from the former Barcelona winger! Mbappe gets to the byline and Araujo clears as far as Dembele chops onto his left foot to take De Jong out of the equation and then unleashes hellfire, smashing an unstoppable shot into the top corner.

46th minute: We’re back underway and there’s a change for PSG, with Barcola replacing Asensio. It looks like that could mean Dembele operating more centrally.
Halftime: PSG definitely need to regroup. The started the stronger of the two sides but after Nuno Mendes cleared Lewandowski’s header off the line midway through the half, Barca had the bit between their teeth. They deservedly lead through Raphinha’s goal and it could have been more as the interval approached.
45th minute+1: Raphinha hares clear away down the left. There’s not really anyone in support. He lofts a cross to Yamal who gets horribly caught in between a shot and a return pass.
45th minute: The hosts look even more vulnerable to the counter since going behind. Yamal and Roberto combine before Lewandowski fails to get a shot off and the offside flag goes up.
43rd minute: PSG rush their latest attack. Barca have an opportunity to counter before Beraldo gets a foot in to dispossess Yamal.
41st minute: Cancelo joins the Barcelona attack and clips a shot wide. PSG need their heads to clear because another goal before halftime would be a bit of a nightmare.
37th minute: GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!!!!! Raphinha!!!!
A first Champions League goal for the former Leeds player and what a time to get it. Lewandowski comes deep and spreads play to Yamal. The teenager’s return cross is partially stopped by Donnarumma but Raphinha adjusts his feet well to dispatch the loose ball into the top corner.
34th minute: Clever corner from Gundogan taken low towards Raphinha whose shot is blocked. PSG look to break quickly and Roberto decides he’s having none of that, bring Asensio down near halfway. That’s a booking and a suspension for the next leg.
33rd minute: Marquinhos and Hernandez got up for the same clearance, the former heads the ball against the latter and it’s a corner. There’s a VAR check for handball that’s over swiftly.
29th minute: Cancelo went flying into Mbappe during that last attack. There was a VAR check for a potential red card but he avoided punishment.
28th minute: PSG looking to reassert themselves. Dembele down the right and Roberto gets to his cutback aimed for Mbappe, who is involved as the hosts quickly regain the ball, finding Lee to have a shot saved by Ter Stegen.
24th minute: The corner is cleared at the near post but in comes the second ball and Donnarumma is out well to punch clear this time with Lewandowski and Araujo in close attendance.
22nd minute: Barca warming to their task now. Roberto finds Raphinha, whose low shot is smartly pushed behind by Donnarumma.
20th minute: Finally a more cohesive attack from Barca. Lewandowski to Raphinha, who wins a corner. Lewandowski meet’s Gundogan’s delivery and Nuno Mendes clears off the line! The follow-up is deflected into the side netting. Donnarumma is in no man’s land again from the next corner but his defence bails him out.
How did that stay out?? 😱

19th minute: Nuno Mendes raids forward from left back, past Kounde before having a shot blocked by Araujo. The PSG concludes an all-action passage of play by charging back to put in a meaty tackle on Yamal.
18th minute: Smart interception from Vitinha in midfield and he charges forward to feed Mbappe. The France superstar cuts back and a bouncing ball proves tricky for Lee, allowing De Jong to clear.
16th minute: Lee’s latest corner from the left and it’s an easy catch for Ter Stegen. He’s not quite got his radar in yet.
13th minute: Beraldo launches himself into a tackle on Raphinha and that looks like a bit of a painful one. The BRazil winger stays down.
6th minute: Very brave/very stupid goalkeeping from Donnarumma who hares out of his box to make a challenge on Raphinha. if he’d got that wrong he was walking.
5th minute: A bouncing ball falls to Mbappe in the box but he can only stab at it and the effort is off target. Barely a half-chance in all honest.
4th minute: Cancelo not always noted for the defensive side of his game but that’s more solid work as he stands up the marauding Dembele and gets a foot in.
2nd minute: Ruiz glances on and Cubarsi clears behind for a corner. Lee’s in-swinging delivery is dealt with by Cancelo.
1st minute: We’re off! Dembele into his work and wins a free-kick on the right touchline.
5 mins before kickoff: The teams are in the tunnel. Mbappe and Lewandowski share a hug. Here they come, out into a raucous Parc des Princes.

30 mins before kickoff: There is a chance, of course, given his contract situation and Real Madrid’s long-standing interest that this could be Kylian Mbappe’s final Champions League game for PSG at the Parc des Princes. He will have other ideas, of course. Does he have something special up his sleeve?
