The Seattle Seahawks are in a place of transition. Pete Carroll is out as head coach and a young Mike MacDonald brings over an excellent defense that helped take the Baltimore Ravens to the AFC Championship Game.
The Draft Network’s Keith Sanchez believe the Seahawks should continue to fortify their defense and sent them Alabama edge rusher Dallas Turner in his most recent mock draft.
It’s been a few years since the Seahawks have had an explosive double-digit sack edge rusher to enhance this defense. They try to get back to that and draft Dallas Turner Turner has great first-step explosiveness. He paired with other young Seahawks edge rushers like Boye Mafe and Derick Hall should give Seattle an electric pass-rush trio.
Turner would be a massive home run swing for the Seahawks. They have invested second round picks in each of the last two NFL Drafts in Hall and Mafe but Turner is a different kind of pass rusher. He’s big and freaky athletic with the power to match.
Will he make a massive difference to the Seahawks difference? Probably not immediately, but in time, Turner could be a massive difference maker for MacDonald.
