The Reds won just 62 games in 2022, but improved dramatically and won 82 games in 2023. Two games over .500, the Reds just missed the playoffs. With the emergence of top prospects, the team looks to reach the postseason for the first time since 2020.
A new year resulted in a changing of the guard as former All-Star Joey Votto and the Reds parted ways. The first baseman signed with the Blue Jays as the Reds looked toward the future without the veteran.
The Reds had a busy offseason, signing Emilio Pagan, Nick Martinez, Jeimer Candelario, Frankie Montas, Brent Suter, and Justin Wilson, among others. There is hope several new additions, especially on the offensive side, can help young guns Christian Encarnacion-Strand, Spencer Steer, TJ Friedl, and Jonathan India.
Someone to keep an eye on is Elly De La Cruz. The speedy infielder is one of the fastest players in baseball today and has some power. The 22-year-old is ready to improve all aspects of his game while leading the Reds to become relevant in what could be an open NL Central.
Reds fans are extremely passionate, and are ready to root on the team from first pitch to the end of the season.
Here’s a complete guide to watching the Reds this season without cable:
How to watch Reds games without cable
For those without cable, there are several options to stream Reds games this year:
If you’re in-market, Fubo carries Bally Sports Ohio, the Reds’ RSN, but blackout restrictions apply. If you are within the market for Bally Sports Ohio, you can watch Reds baseball via Fubo. Those out of market will not be able to watch Reds games on the streaming service, since Fubo will not carry the out-of-market RSN.
Inside market, DirecTV Stream also carries Bally Sports Ohio, as well as all of the networks that broadcast games nationally: Fox, ESPN, MLB Network, FS1 and MLB Network. These are all part of the service’s Choice package for $ 108.99 monthly.
MORE: Watch Reds games live with Fubo (free trial)
If you live outside the Reds’ TV market, you can watch games via MLB.tv. For $ 149.99 for the season or $ 29.99 per month, you can catch every game from every team outside your local market. You can also pick a single-team option for $ 129.99 for the season. Again, this is only if you are outside the Reds’ TV market: If you are inside the Reds’ market, games will be blacked out. Games will also be blacked out if you live outside the Reds’ market, but inside the market of teams the Reds are visiting.
Fubo is also carrying MLB.tv, for $ 29.99 per month on top of the Fubo subscription.
For nationally televised games, there are a few options, with some exceptions: Fubo, SlingTV, and DirecTV Stream all carry ESPN, MLB Network and FS1. YoutubeTV and Hulu + Live TV carry ESPN and FS1, but they do not carry MLB Network in 2024.
You can check if games are blacked out in your area using MLB’s blackout tool.
