Will West Virginia send Caitlin Clark packing? It’s time to find out.
After finding out the Mountaineers would meet Iowa in the second round of March Madness, WVU coach Mark Kellogg hyped his team with the prospect of knocking the superstar out of the tournament. We’ll see what happens when the programs collide Monday with a Sweet 16 trip on the line.
It will be no easy task for No. 8 WVU. No. 1 Iowa has home court advantage, and to make matters worse for the visitors, it will be the Hawkeye seniors’ last time playing in Iowa City. That includes Caitlin Clark. A loud and proud crowd will be nothing short of expected.
Clark, the NCAA all-time leading scorer, led Iowa to a win over Holy Cross in the tournament’s first round with 27 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds. While the Hawkeyes were slow to get things going in the game, they quickly regrouped for a 91-65 victory.
Junior JJ Quinerly scored 29 with seven rebounds in WVU’s comeback win over Princeton. Down by only two at halftime, the Mountaineers rallied to win, 63-53.
Here’s what you need to know about Monday’s matchup between Iowa and West Virginia, including broadcast information and start time.
Iowa vs. West Virginia start time
- Date: Monday, March 25
- Time: 8 p.m. ET
The NCAA women’s tournament game between Iowa and West Virginia is set to tip off at 8 p.m. ET from Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa.
