Liverpool are going toe-to-toe with Manchester City and Arsenal in a gripping Premier League title race in 2023/24.
Jurgen Klopp’s team started March this year at the top of the table but with the reigning champions and the Gunners breathing down their necks. They are also attempting to juggle FA Cup and UEFA Europa League commitments — having already won this season’s Carabao Cup — while managing a succession of injuries.
Attempting to navigate a challenging remaining schedule, much of which comes after the March international break, could be a significant obstacle in the Reds’ quest to win a second league title under Klopp, before he leaves the club at the end of the season.
The Sporting News has a breakdown of Liverpool’s remaining schedule, plus a points prediction for the games they have coming up, based on this season’s form and the result in the same game in 2022/23. Will they get over the line?

Liverpool prediction for run-in 2023/24: How many points will they get?
Liverpool have a handful of difficult-looking matches remaining in the Premier League in 2023/24. Here’s a run-down of those fixtures, and a prediction of how many points they might expect to get.
Man City (H): March 10
Evidently the toughest of their remaining games, Liverpool host Man City next at Anfield. City have a lousy record away to the Reds — indeed, they have only won once at the home of Liverpool since 2003 — but they are on an excellent run of form.
Result last season: Liverpool 1-0 Man City
Prediction this season: Liverpool 0-2 Man City
Everton (A): TBD
The next Merseyside derby match was postponed when Liverpool reached the quarterfinals of the FA Cup, which takes place the weekend their trip to Everton was originally scheduled. While these games are always feisty affairs, it’s hard to see anything other than a win for the Reds.
Result last season: Everton 0-0 Liverpool
Prediction this season: Everton 0-3 Liverpool

Brighton (H): March 31
Brighton have rather gone off the boil in recent weeks and this match no longer looks quite the challenge it did previously. Should Roberto De Zerbi’s team continue to try to balance league and Europa League commitments, this could be a difficult visit to Anfield.
Result last season: Liverpool 3-3 Brighton
Prediction this season: Liverpool 3-1 Brighton
Sheffield United (H): April 4
This has been a miserable season for Sheffield United and there is little reason for their fans to be optimistic of a shock result against Liverpool.
Result last season: N/A
Prediction this season: Liverpool 5-0 Sheffield United
Man United (A): April 7
Predicting matches between two of English football’s fiercest rivals is always tricky. United had a better season than Liverpool in 2022/23, yet they lost a scarcely believable match 7-0 at Anfield. This season, when they were expected to be turned over once more, they became the only team to stop Liverpool scoring at home in 22 games.
Result last season: Man United 2-1 Liverpool
Prediction this season: Man United 2-2 Liverpool
Crystal Palace (H): April 14
Palace replaced manager Roy Hodgson with Oliver Glasner in February in a bid to salvage a poor season. The Eagles managed a draw against 10-man Liverpool in 2022/23, but a repeat feels unlikely.
Result last season: Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace
Prediction this season: Liverpool 4-1 Crystal Palace
Fulham (A): April 20
Fulham held Liverpool to a home draw last August and they remain a tricky opponent on their day, as they showed by beating Manchester United at Old Trafford. On home turf, they could cause the Reds some problems.
Result last season: Fulham 2-2 Liverpool
Prediction this season: Fulham 1-1 Liverpool
West Ham (A): April 27
Liverpool won this game last season and, although the Hammers can be a difficult proposition, the ease with which Arsenal won here suggests the Reds can do likewise.
Result last season: West Ham 1-2 Liverpool
Prediction this season: West Ham 0-4 Liverpool
Tottenham (H): May 4
Liverpool’s final three games look to be a real challenge. First up is a Tottenham side battling for a UEFA Champions League place and likely to be in need of whatever points they can get.
Result last season: Liverpool 4-3 Tottenham
Prediction this season: Liverpool 3-3 Tottenham
Aston Villa (A): May 11
After hosting Spurs, Liverpool must travel to another Champions League hopeful, Aston Villa. This could potentially be the decisive game in Villa’s quest to qualify for Europe’s top competition. Liverpool will hope they have already managed it, thereby making this a potentially easier game.
Result last season: Aston Villa 1-3 Liverpool
Prediction this season: Aston Villa 2-2 Liverpool
Wolves (H): May 19
Liverpool finish their Premier League season at home to a Wolves side who have surprised many in 2023/24 and could potentially still be in a battle for a European place come May 19.
Result last season: Liverpool 2-0 Wolves
Prediction this season: Liverpool 3-0 Wolves
Liverpool predicted final points tally in 2023/24: 85
Predicted final Premier League table 2023/24
Based on our predicted results, Man City will finish top of the Premier League this season, six points above Liverpool and Arsenal. The Gunners are set to be edged into third place on goal difference.
It’ll be fascinating to see how this title battle plays out in real time…
