Caitlin Clark is continuing her ascent into the NCAA history books.
The Iowa senior already has secured one record this season. She broke the NCAA women’s scoring record over a week ago, surpassing Kelsey Plum’s mark that she set in her time at Washington.
However, the Hawkeyes sensation isn’t done chasing after records just yet. While she may have secured the women’s record, up next is the all-time college basketball mark, which is owned by Pete Maravich.
Clark enters action on Sunday just 75 points away from Maravich’s scoring record of 3,667. While it’s very unlikely that she sets the record today, she can put a considerable dent into the gap. Iowa still has two more regular season games left after the home matchup against Illinois, putting her on track to surpass Pistol Pete’s record by the end of the 2023-24 season.

12 p.m.: Clark enters the contest against Illinois 75 points away from Maravich’s record, so she won’t hit it today. Her career-high is 49, which she dropped on Michigan two games ago when she broke the woman’s scoring record, as well as the program single game record.
11 a.m.: Clark is coming off a 24-point outing against Indiana on Thursday, one of her weaker statistical showings of the year — which says everything about Clark. It was her lowest-scoring outing since early December when she had 24 against Bowling Green.
