The opening point spread had the 49ers laying between 2 and 3 points. FanDuel opened San Francisco -3 but moved to -1 within a few minutes of early betting, while BetMGM adjusted from -2.5 to -1.5. By Tuesday, 49ers -1.5 was the consensus spread on odds boards.
Sharp bettors last week laid the 1.5 at market-making books in Las Vegas, where the spread was nudged up to San Fran -2. The Niners were up to -2.5 at FanDuel Sportsbook the week of the game, and the Westgate Superbook is showing -2.

San Francisco 49ers ATS trends and betting overview
With the win over the Lions in the NFC title game, the 49ers ended a two-game NFC Championship losing streak and earned the franchise’s first trip to the Super Bowl since losing to the Ravens in Super Bowl 44.
The 49ers had one of the best records in the NFL this season at 12-5, but while they won games outright, they were not so lucky ATS, going 9-8. With two ATS losses in the playoffs, the Niners are 9-10 ATS overall this season.
But while they have struggled to cover this season, they have not had issues doing so in the postseason under Kyle Shanahan. Since the 2019 season, the 49ers are 7-3 SU and ATS in 10 playoff games.
When favored, they have gone 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS. But as the underdog in the postseason, they’ve gone 2-3 SU and 3-2 ATS. In their one Super Bowl appearance under Shanahan, they lost outright and ATS to the Chiefs.
The 49ers’ outlook is promising, given their No. 2 scoring offense and No. 3 scoring defense in the league.

Kansas City Chiefs ATS trends and betting overview
With the upset of the Ravens in the AFC title game, the Chiefs now have a shot to become the first back-to-back champions since the New England Patriots won Super Bowls 38 and 39.
The Chiefs were not a great team ATS this year, going 9-7-1 during the regular season. They got off to a solid start, going 6-3 ATS in the first half. But the second was not as productive, as they went 3-4-1 ATS.
