And then there were four.
No. 1 Purdue is set to take on No. 11 NC State to kick off Final Four weekend in Phoenix on Saturday.
The Boilermakers are in hot pursuit of their first-ever national championship in program history behind two-time Naismith Player of the Year Zach Edey.
Edey has been an unstoppable force in the NCAA Tournament, averaging 30.0 points, 16.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. He is coming off of a career-high 40-point performance against Tennessee in the Elite Eight, and the Wolfpack will have their hands full trying to slow him down.
NC State is used to being the underdog, though. It has parlayed a miraculous ACC Tournament championship run into an unlikely Final Four appearance behind breakout star DJ Burns Jr. Burns is averaging an impressive 18.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in March Madness, but will his defense hold up against Purdue’s 7-4 center?
