Since AI has become so prominent in pretty much every field imaginable, especially the entertainment industry, an obviously edited or unrealistic picture of a K-Pop idol might be assumed to be the product of such practices. However, a recent uncanny photo of RIIZE‘s Wonbin that was used by an actual fansite of the idol turned out to be done by a fansite owner themselves!
The image in question was shared on an advertisement for a birthday event that’s coming up for the RIIZE member on March 1-3. Shared on the fansite’s Twitter account, a number of unedited photos of Wonbin were also included in the advertisement, with the biggest, main picture being the one that, even at first glance, looks a little off.
And many fans of RIIZE can easily pinpoint why the picture looks unreal. It turns out that Wonbin’s head was edited onto the body of none other than NCT‘s Jeno from a very well-known photoshoot of the idol in a hockey uniform during NCT U‘s “90’s Love” era.
The person behind the edit even changed up the lettering on the sleeves of the jersey to say RIIZE instead of NCT 2020.
Reactions to the photoshopping range from amused to confused and taken aback. Given that Wonbin has been so highly praised for his visuals and physique, netizens aren’t sure why a fan would feel the need to photoshop him onto someone else’s body.
How do you feel about this unexpected edit?
