ESPN reportedly secured the services of one of its budding stars Monday, as Ryan Clark verbally agreed to a contract extension, according to The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand.
The move comes after weeks of speculation revolving around the Worldwide Leader in Sports and Clark — one of the network’s more youthful faces. The former Giants, Steelers and Commanders safety has made his mark since debuting for the company back in 2015, appearing on various TV spots, including NFL Live, SportsCenter and First Take. He also hosts a podcast alongside former UFC champion Daniel Cormier, entitled DC & RC.
Clark and ESPN appeared to be on the outs heading into the final portion of the NFL season. His contract was slated to expire prior to Super Bowl 58, although both sides ironed out an extension to ensure he was a part of the network’s plans come Super Bowl Sunday. Clark appeared on SportsCenter later that night.

“Somebody’s got to pay the piper. It’s either we get what we want or we make a decision to stand on what we’re worth,” Clark said. “It’s not that I think I should be paid more than anybody that does the job. I just want what I’m worth.”

He appears on the program with former NFL players Fred Taylor, Brandon Marshall and Channing Crowder. He also will be allowed to offer his musings on The CW’s Inside the NFL.
