Netizens have called out BE:LIFT LAB and HYBE after an artist revealed they had plagiarized his work for ENHYPEN‘s Golden Disc Awards performance.
At the Golden Disc Awards, ENHYPEN wowed fans with their performance. In particular, the powerful music and choreography worked perfectly together.
Yet, netizens are angry at BE:LIFT after an artist revealed that the music used had plagiarized his own work with no credit or contact.
In a video by Mobiius, the artist explained that his song “Choke” had been taken and used for the dance break ENHYPEN did at the Golden Disc Awards.
He explained that along with the performance, there were other videos with his track, none of the work was credited, and he wasn’t contacted by the company.
In a new video expanding on everything that had happened, Mobiius showed the clip of ENHYPEN’s dance break during the rehearsal and put the audio next to his own song, with the similarities impossible to deny.
After showing two clips, Mobiius explained that for many, it could still be a coincidence…
Until he kept comparing the videos of ENHYPEN with his original track.
He then explained that it seems as if BE:LIFT had a producer create a song for ENHYPEN’s performance, but they copied the song and made tiny changes to avoid issues in copyright or having to pay a licensing fee.
He then added how nobody contacted him, and there’s been no credit to him.
In particular, in the comments, Mobiius explained that none of this blame was for the members of ENHYPEN and that he wanted to call out both HYBE and BE:LIFT.
When the allegations from the artist were shared online, netizens were extremely angry at BE:LIFT LAB. Some fans went as far to say it wasn’t similar but an “exact” copy…

Others shared their confusion at what the company thought they were doing. In particular, along with ensuring blame wasn’t put on ENHYPEN, netizens added that a statement needed to be made because it was unfair to the original creator.

Of course, netizens are not blaming the ENHYPEN members but they believe that BE:LIFT should either be able to come up with their own choreography or acknowledge and credit other artists when using their work. Mobiius will be sharing a second part to his video soon.
