After confirming the first and second certified letters received by Kim Sae Ron from Gold Medalist, it was revealed that the agency, who had strongly demanded that she repay her debt, had changed its position after she posted a photo with Kim Soo Hyun.
On March 18, media outlet Hankyung obtained the first of the two certified letters, which revealed that they had urged her to repay her debt.
The letter, which was sent on March 15, 2024, listed Gold Medalist as the client and Kim Ah Im, Kim Sae Ron’s name after her name change, as the recipient.
The letter continued by saying that she signed a loan contract on November 22, 2022, to borrow ₩686 million KRW (about $ 475,000 USD) from the client and to repay it by December 31, 2023, and that she had not repaid the debt even though it was due.
Our law firm, on behalf of our client, urges you to repay the above loan debt, so please deposit the entire amount as soon as possible. If you do not deposit the loan, we will take civil and criminal action against you.

Afterward, Kim Sae Ron tried to contact Kim Soo Hyun and the agency for an extension to pay the debt but received no response. She texted and called and still could not reach him. She then posted a photo of herself with Kim Soo Hyun on social media on March 24, 2024 in order to catch the agency’s attention.

The bereaved family revealed the second certified letter, saying she received this after the photo incident.
In the second letter, sent on March 25, 2024, they stated their reason for urging her to pay off the debt and had a change in attitude regarding payment.
“We are urging you to pay your debt because if the client company doesn’t request that you repay your loan when it’s due, the client company’s executives could be charged with breach of trust.
Regarding the difficultly in repaying the debut, we are willing to discuss a method and timing of debt repayment with you. We hope you will present a possible debt repayment schedule to the law firm.”
