Korean stars Son Seok Gu and Choi Hee Seo are venturing into Hollywood! Fans have been surprised to hear breaking news that the duo will soon star in the upcoming indie film Bedford Park.
On January 21, American entertainment outlet Variety revealed that the two actors will lead the project, marking a major step in their careers. Son Seok Gu’s management company, Stenam, confirmed the news, while Choi Hee Seo shared the announcement on her social media.
The movie’s plot centers on a Korean-American woman caught between familial responsibilities and personal ambitions alongside a former wrestler striving to atone for past mistakes. Their paths cross after a significant event that intertwines their lives. Directed by Stephanie Ahn, the film serves as her directorial debut, having previously worked as an editor on projects like My Old Lady. Filming is scheduled to start in New Jersey this spring, with a release anticipated next year.
Production is spearheaded by B&C Content, a company that has introduced Korean films like The Outlaws series to international audiences. Collaborating with veteran Hollywood producers Gary Foster, Russ Krasnoff, and Nina Yang Bongiovi, the project aims to bring together creative minds from both the U.S. and Korea. The CEO of B&C Content described the film as a meaningful exploration of themes like identity, resilience, and love.
Gary Foster expressed his excitement about casting the leads and even noted that meeting Choi felt like discovering the perfect fit for the role. He added that Son Seok Gu’s involvement brought an extra layer of excitement to the project. Both actors are no strangers to working together, having previously collaborated on plays like Burning Love and The Army on the Tree.
With such talented actors at the helm, Bedford Park is shaping up to be a film worth anticipating.
