On January 17, 2025 (KST), Dispatched revealed that actress Kim Min Hee is six months pregnant with married director Hong Sang Soo‘s baby, nine years into their adulterous relationship.
Kim Min Hee Is Pregnant From Extramarital Affair With Hong Sang Soo
Following the shocking news, Korean reporter-turned-YouTuber Lee Jin Ho has since commented on where the director stands with his family—as in the wife he is still married to, her mother (the director’s mother-in-law), and their only daughter from the marriage.
According to the YouTuber, Hong Sang Soo was once very fond of his only daughter. But once he started seeing Kim Min Hee, the director basically cut ties. When the daughter got married a couple of years ago, Hong Sang Soo did not attend the wedding or send any wedding gifts.
The YouTuber added, “At the time, a friend of his wife who saw what happened condemned Hong Sang Soo, but his wife didn’t bat an eye as she replied, ‘That’s who he is.’”

It was also revealed that, back in 2017, when his wife lost her mother, Hong Sang Soo failed to attend the funeral and faced massive criticism. 2017 is when the director admitted to being in an extramarital affair with the actress since 2016 after having met her while working on the 2015 film, Right Now, Wrong Then.
Koreans are now expressing newfound disgust toward the director and, inevitably, his mistress.

Hong Sang Soo met his wife while studying abroad in the US in 1985. In 2016, he filed for divorce for the first time but was unsuccessful. In 2019, he filed again—but ever since that case was dismissed, he has not appealed. He remains legally married while in a relationship with Kim Min Hee.
