Korea can still have quite conservative attitudes towards sexuality, but LGBTQ+ characters are becoming more mainstream with top stars and idols taking on the roles.
WJSN Yeonjung‘s kiss with her female co-star has gained attention.
Lizzie is a musical based on the true story of Lizzie Borden‘s murder case in 1892 America, which premiered off-Broadway at the Living Theater in New York.
It has been performed in Korea, and during recent shows, Yeonjung has once again played Alice, Lizzie’s love interest in the musical. It is explicitly WLW (women love women) and includes kissing scenes.
Yeonjung has played Alice in the past, but only photos showcasing the bond between female characters rather than the actual intimacy.
The show has recently come to an end, and Yeonjung shared some photos from the show.
Lee Bom So Ri (who plays Lizzie in the show) also posted some photos, but the ones of her with Yeonjung’s character gained attention, showcasing the chemistry between the stars.
In particular, a picture of their kiss has gained a lot of attention.
