The Baltimore Ravens’ Week 3 contest against the Dallas Cowboys will be a matchup of two teams looking to bounce back in a big way.
The Ravens are off to an 0-2 start this season after suffering a fourth-quarter collapse against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Ravens held a 10-point lead but had no answers as the Raiders rattled off 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to steal the win.
The Cowboys, meanwhile, are 1-1, coming off an embarrassing 44-19 shellacking at the hands of the New Orleans Saints. The Cowboys gave up touchdowns on six straight drives to open the game, meaning their defense will be trying to get right against an inconsistent Ravens offense.
Ahead of a game in which two potential contenders will be trying to prove they’re legit, we consulted some NFL experts for picks and predictions.
NFL picks, predictions Week 3: Cowboys vs. Ravens
Bill Bender, Sporting News: Ravens 30, Cowboys 24
“The Cowboys allowed 190 rushing yards in Week 2, and Lamar Jackson presents a challenge for that pass rush led by Micah Parsons. Are the Cowboys really going to lose back-to-back home games? Baltimore is 5-1 S/U all-time against Dallas. This will be the most-entertaining game of the week as a result.”
Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: Ravens 27, Cowboys 20
“The Ravens are the better all-around team and lost last week because of penalties and a few big situational mistakes. Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, and the versatile receiving corps can also cause problems playing to the Ravens’ strengths while exploiting the Cowboys’ weaknesses.”
Ian McMillain, Sports Illustrated: Ravens
“I’m not ready to push the panic button for Baltimore quite yet … The Cowboys have had issues stopping the run the past number of seasons and it seems to be a cause for concern for them again in 2024 … A game against the high-powered rushing offense of the Ravens is bad news for the Dallas defense.”
John Breech, CBS Sports: Cowboys 30, Ravens 27
“With both defenses struggling, I think what this means is that we’re going to get a good old-fashioned shootout … I won’t be surprised if this game comes down to a field goal, which means I’m going to take the team with the better kicker, and right now, I think Brandon Aubrey is better than Justin Tucker.”
