Three ex-members of FIFTY FIFTY have taken legal action against the CEO of their former agency, ATTRAKT. Saena, Sio, and Aran have filed a civil lawsuit seeking no less than ₩300 million KRW (about $ 226,000 USD) in settlement fees from CEO Jeon Hong Jun.
The legal dispute began last year when ATTRAKT terminated the exclusive contracts of these members. In response, the agency initiated a 13 billion won damages lawsuit against the trio, their families, and other parties.
Now, the former members have countered with their own claim — submitting a complaint to the Seoul Central District Court on the 23rd. Both cases will be handled by the 31st Civil Division, which has decided to combine them for joint proceedings.
The law firm Dongin is representing Saena, Sio, and Aran in both legal matters. ATTRAKT’s initial lawsuit trial — which will examine the various claims — is scheduled for August 29.
The three former members are expected to use the case of FIFTY FIFTY member Keena, who received her first settlement in November last year, as the basis for their settlement claim. Since the exclusive contract between the former members and ATTRAKT was maintained until October, they are likely to demand settlement payments for that period.
Some analysts suggest that this move is an attempt to gain leverage before the full-scale resumption of their activities.
Despite the ongoing legal battles, the three former FIFTY FIFTY members are moving forward with their careers. They have reportedly signed with MASSIVE E&C, a label under IOK Company, and are planning to resume their activities in the entertainment industry soon.
