Fans have praised Stray Kids‘ creative and flattering outfits since the group debuted in 2018. Although these fashion kings can pull off any look, Stray Kids’ stylists have come under fire for a few of their styling decisions. Here, in no particular order, are some of their most criticized stylings to date.
1. Lee Know’s Show Champion Outfit
During promotions for their album ODDINARY, Stray Kids performed on Show Champion. Although this incredible stage showcased the members’ next-level talent, not everyone was a fan of Lee Know’s styling for “MANIAC.” Fans called out Stray Kids’ stylist for putting the idol’s safety in peril for the sake of aesthetics, noting that Lee Know’s outfit seemed to be limiting his movement.
He was spotted continually trying to readjust the outfit during the stage…
…but he also slipped and fell because of his outfit.
In particular, the spiked gloves (which he tried to remove) put him, but also his members, at risk of injury.
As if this wasn’t enough, Lee Know’s shirt came untucked and could have revealed more than the idol might have felt comfortable showing. In the past, Lee Know told STAYs that felt uncomfortable showing his stomach because of a surgical scar.
lee know was not just uncomfy in this outfit but he was clearly hurt by the spikes on the sleeves.. i really hope the stylists will be more careful and considerate next time pic.twitter.com/a9bCYJUUAR

2. Hair And Makeup
Stray Kids’ hair and makeup team came under fire after the 2023 MBC Music Festival. The makeup was too ashy and hair too oily, according to fans who disliked the look.
This was the last straw for the STAYs who sent protest trucks to Stray Kids’ agency, JYP Entertainment.
Here are some of the messages displayed by the truck:
- “Caked and split-up bangs, oily and waxy hair, flat 5:5 partings, all OUT. Improve Stray Kids’ hair.”
- “Their hair and makeup is all the same as they ignore it. What’s the use of planning album concepts? The hair and makeup team who stops us from rewatching fancams and only cares about themselves, OUT. Division 1 who can’t understand what the public wants, get a grip.”
- “The hair and makeup team who only covers up the members’ strengths, OUT. The fandom atmosphere is getting worse. If you didn’t know, you should shut down your entertainment business.”
- “Their stylist? Forget it. There’s too much to say. Just change their stylist.”
3. Coca-Cola Collaboration
For a collaborative project with Coca-Cola, Stray Kids wore the brand’s white, black, and red. Although the colors were on point, not everyone loved the group’s unconventional, futuristic outfits.
Netizens reacted negatively to everything from the group’s red pleather pants to Hyunjin‘s black shorts over red tights and Lee Know’s missing shirt.
- “Just wear suits or something…”
- “What’s with Hyunjin’s outfit? Is he a Power Ranger?”
- “Those who don’t know will turn the blame to Coca-Cola LOL. Normally, JYP Entertainment will be the ones to ask the clients if the outfits are okay while showing them drafts, and the clients will agree LOL. Why would the clients be the ones to choose the outfits of male idols that they don’t know well themselves? They probably leave the job to the industry’s workers and filter out the ones they want to some extent.”
- “Fans would be up in arms over this for real LOL. I know because I’ve also been a fan of idols with sucky styling before.”
- “Someone said they looked like Knowledge Korea Man. Whenever I see this, I think of that LOL.”
- “Thought the 4th from left was wearing underwear.”
- “I doubt Coca-Cola would’ve forced them to wear these, and even though the commercial would have a theme… I was surprised the instant I saw these.”
4. Lee Know’s “S-Class” Outfit
Fans expressed their outrage on social media after Lee Know performed stunt choreography for “S-Class” in this outfit. While doing the kick, which he normally performs flawlessly, Lee Know stumbled.
After seeing the clip, fans called out Stray Kids’ stylists for putting Lee Know in shoes that made the stunt more difficult to perform.
5. Felix’s 2024 Met Gala Outfit
This year, Stray Kids became the first K-Pop group to attend the MET Gala. Some fans were disappointed by the understated styling, which included subtle floral accents for the garden theme. Felix’s outfit, in particular, was criticized for being underwhelming.
Given that Felix has naturally elfin features and a talent for pulling off even the most dramatic outfits, some fans had hoped that he would have been dressed in something more extravagant.
Kinda sad because the designer could’ve tapped more into the theme instead of boring ass suits it’s the met gala where fashion and creativity is supposed to be the forefront tired of designers taking the easy way out of shit (this is not directed at skz but the designers themself https://t.co/5SmRaCt1Cq pic.twitter.com/VKsRfnvaj6
