NewJeans member Hanni is taking the internet by storm with her latest solo performance.
On August 19, Hani appeared on Japan’s TBS Television and delivered a legendary performance with her rendition of TUBE‘s “The Season in the Sun,” a nostalgic J-Pop track from 1986.

Hani’s soulful performance caught the eye of netizens so quickly that within a day of the video being posted on X (former Twitter), it garnered over 4.4 million views! Japanese netizens have flocked to the post, praising Hanni’s vocals.

Korean netizens were also left in awe of Hanni’s performance and praised her versatility as an artist.

This is, however, not the first time Hanni has gone super viral with a Japanese song cover. During NewJeans’ concert at the Tokyo Dome last month, she created a wave with her cover of Seiko Matsuda’s 1980 hit “Blue Coral Reef.” The song not only saw a spike in sales in Japan, but also climbed charts in Korea’s biggest streaming platform, Melon.
