Zoom on Monday announced a new single-user webinar feature that caps out at 1 million attendees. The addition comes less than a month after the #WinWithBlackWomen fundraiser for Vice President Kamala Harris peaked at 44,000 users before crashing. More recently, an X interview between owner Elon Musk and Harris’ challenger, Donald Trump, crashed prior to launch.
Given the audience capabilities of Zoom’s new feature — which also comes in 10,000, 50,000, 100,000, 250,000 and 500,000 flavors — the company is offering up live support from its Event Services. The Zoom reps will “ensure hosts deliver a professional, engaging experience” and, presumably, make sure it doesn’t crash under its own weight.
