SM Entertainment and TV Chosun are joining forces to debut a trot idol group targeting the global market.
On August 13, the two companies held a contract signing ceremony for the trot idol project T-5 at the SM Entertainment building.
The two companies discussed content production for the group and what they planned for the future.
They revealed that the trot idol group will consist of five members, including trainees, actors, and trot singers.
Next month, they will also air a show program in Korea and Japan through TV Chosun and reveal the group’s debut process.
Taking a look at the members, they include Han Tae I, Im Chapyung, Jung Yoonjae, Seo Woohyuk, and Shohei.
However, one member stood out to fans the most. Shohei, one of the longest-serving SM trainees was on the list.
“He auditioned in hopes of achieving his dream of becoming a celebrity. He’s one of the longest-serving SM trainees. Shohei, who cannot miss this chance to debut, is here for the Trot TVXQ Project” https://t.co/60FaN2OmP4 pic.twitter.com/CLY54OCXDq
