The United States is no stranger to Olympic dominance. Team USA has led the medal count at six of the last seven Summer Games, and the margin often hasn’t been particularly close.
The U.S. isn’t guaranteed to finish with the most gold medals in Paris, though. While the overall medal gap between the USA and China was significant three years ago, China only finished one gold medal behind. The U.S. is out to prove that the rest of the world hasn’t caught up just yet.
Between an impressive group of swimmers, two of the world’s best sprinters in Sha’Carri Richardson and Noah Lyles, and two 5×5 basketball teams with gold medal expectations, there won’t be any shortage of opportunities for Team USA to win gold in Paris.
