Singer Nam Taehyun has responded to accusations of dating violence brought against him by his former girlfriend and influencer Seo Eun Woo (formerly Seo Min Jae).
The former third-generation idol posted a lengthy message on his Instagram account on July 10, refuting the allegations and claiming that Seo had taken things out of context.
It’s unfortunate that she only mentioned my mistakes, ignoring the context and excluding her own flaws.
— Nam Taehyun
The singer insisted that the incidents mentioned in Seo’s posts were “personal matters that occurred between lovers 2-3 years ago,” adding that it was nothing more than usual arguments between two romantic partners and never escalated to assault. He also mentioned that he didn’t want to make his past relationship’s details any more public than they already were.
I don’t know what else she would write about our difficult past from her own perspective, but I will not be making any revelations or responses about my relationship with her. I’m full of regret and reflection, enduring life day by day. And I believe that holding myself back is also a step toward betterment.
— Nam Taehyun
He concluded his post wishing happiness and peace for Seo.
Nam’s post was in response to Seo Eun Woo’s recent allegations, where she claimed that Nam had threatened her with revenge porn. Read more about it here.
Meanwhile, back in 2022, Seo had accused Nam Taehyun of drug abuse and assault. Both of them were investigated by the police, and Seo received a 10-month prison sentence with a two-year probation for violating the Narcotic Control Act. Nam, on the other hand, was sentenced to a year in prison with two years of probation.
