The Cleveland browns, at 3-8, are drawing a lot of attention this week after their win over the Las Vegas Raiders. While Myles Garrett’s four-sack game was impressive, Shedeur Sanders’ starting debut drew even more attention.
After the Browns win, head coach Kevin Stefanski initially didn’t announce a starter for Week 13, but he later confirmed that Sanders would get another start, this time facing off against the San Francisco 49ers.
During a press conference that Ari Meirov of The 3rd Team shared ahead of his second start, a reporter asked Sanders what he thinks of his supporters believing Stefanski tried to “sabotage” Sanders. The rookie quarterback easily deflected from this question, shutting down the reporter.
Browns’ Shedeur Sanders shuts down ‘sabotage’ accusation at Kevin Stefanski
“Your supporters out there say that Kevin Stefanksi was sabotaging you,” the reporter said. Sanders replied with a quick retort: “So you just wanna start trouble, huh?”

The origin of this idea, that Stefanski “sabotaged” Sanders, comes from the Colorado quarterback not having any reps with the first team offense before his NFL debut.
It’s a bit of an exaggeration, but there were many who strongly criticized the Browns and Stefanski for this decision. Sanders quickly shut down that reporter’s comment, and when asked about his relationship with Stefanksi, he was positive.
“Overall, I’m just happy to be here,” Sanders said. “Stefanski he’s been coaching since I got here, and he’s been doing a very great job with everything going on. Definitely like a coach. He tells me what I need to do on and off the field. We’ve definitely grown our relationship, and everything has grown.”

Cleveland is sticking with Sanders for another week, and Stefanski is choosing him over Dillon Gabriel, despite the lefty Oregon quarterback being capable of coming out of concussion protocol.
The Browns haven’t decided to stick with Sanders for the rest of the season, but his getting a second straight start is a good opportunity to prove to the Browns that he should start for the rest of the season.
Sanders displayed his maturity, shutting down this reporter’s question, which, as Sanders said, is looking to “start trouble.” Sanders emphasized his good relationship with Stefanski and is shutting down any notion that he was “sabotaged” by his head coach.
