The Carnell Tate situation has gotten a little weirder.
And because of college football’s relatively limited injury reporting news, Ohio State hasn’t really cleared much up.
Tate has now missed a couple games in a row heading into the Buckeyes’ Saturday clash with Rutgers.

Is Carnell Tate playing today?
There’s no clarity on whether Tate is playing on Saturday.
On Wednesday, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said of Tate and Jeremiah Smith both: “They’re working hard to get back on the field.”
The implication there is that they weren’t back on the field yet, which given the proximity of Wednesday to a noon kickoff on Saturday, doesn’t bode particularly well.
It was one thing to just be missing Tate, but to now have Smith as a question mark, too, is even worse.
When does Ohio State play Michigan?
The Buckeyes take on the Wolverines in a week, on Saturday, Nov. 29.
It’s not clear at this point whether Tate will be out there for that one. It’d certainly be encouraging if he could get at least a little action against Rutgers to begin working his way back.
