The Denver Broncos picked up perhaps their most impressive win of the Sean Payton era when they handed the reigning champion Philadelphia Eagles a home loss in Week 5. What do they have for an encore across the pond?
Bo Nix and the Broncos’ offense will be looking for a quicker start against the winless New York Jets, who have battled defensive issues all season long. The Jets have allowed at least 27 points in every game this year, consistently finding themselves in early holes.
A year ago, the Broncos overcame an abysmal offensive start to knock off the Jets at MetLife Stadium. Nix started to catch fire in the weeks that followed, and Denver’s arrow has been pointing up ever since. The same can’t be said for the Jets, who are still searching for their first win under coach Aaron Glenn.
For the Broncos, a win in London could put AFC West title contention firmly on the table. Denver enters Week 6 in a virtual tie atop the division, and Kansas City’s Week 5 loss was the clearest indication yet that the AFC West might be more open than it has been at any point in the Patrick Mahomes era.
