Chasing a spot in the Super Four of the tournament, the UAE and Pakistan will clash in a win-or-bust Asia Cup 2025 encounter this Wednesday in Dubai.
UAE finally ended their six-match winless streak with a morale-boosting 42-run victory against Oman in their second match of the Asia Cup tournament.
The UAE posted 172 runs for the loss of 5 wickets while batting first, thanks to much-needed half-centuries from opener duo Alishan Sharafu (51) and Muhammad Waseem (69). The hosts bowled out Oman in just 18.4 overs, with Junaid Siddique scalping four wickets.
Pakistan, meanwhile, lost their second match against their arch-rivals India by 7 wickets in another one-sided contest. In a high-pressure game, Pakistan crumbled against the bowling attack of the Indian team.
With two points from their first two matches, both UAE and Pakistan will be battling it out in a must-win clash to make their spot in the Super Four stage of the tournament.

UAE vs. Pakistan Asia Cup match predicted XIs, team news
The hosts will be confident to take on Pakistan after their convincing victory against Oman in their previous match. With their top order already in form, Muhammad Waseem‘s team will need to optimize the Dubai condition.
The UAE made one change to their playing XI, bringing Muhammad Jawadullah in place of Simranjeet Singh, and the move played a vital role in the UAE’s victory. The 26-year-old left-arm pacer took two crucial wickets against Oman.
With Dubai’s pitch condition preferable for the spinners, it will be interesting to see if the UAE makes a new change to their final XI or goes with the same team that brought them a positive result.
UAE predicted XI: Muhammad Waseem (c), Alishan Sharafu, Muhammad Zohaib, Rahul Chopra (wk), Asif Khan, Harshit Kaushik, Haider Ali, Dhruv Parashar, Muhammad Rohid Khan, Junaid Siddique, Muhammad Jawadullah/Simranjeet Singh.
Pakistan might have plenty of options in their squad, but they are not in the mood to experiment, as the Men in Green fielded the same playing XI against India from their opening match. However, their concern lies in batting; with the opening duo of Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub still looking unstable at the top, the pressure comes down to the middle order.
Pakistan has opted for one interesting move in the tournament; their primary batter, Fakhar Zaman, has been slotted to number four, whereas inexperienced Mohammad Haris has picked the number three.
On the pace bowling front, Shaheen Afridi remains their lead pacer in the team, with Faheem Ashraf as the supporting pace bowler. Sufiyan Muqeem and Abrar Ahmed have played both matches so far and failed to put an impressive performance together. Pakistan, however, will be itching to make some changes in their bowling lineup. With Haris Rauf and Salman Mirza warming the bench, Salman Agha will look for one between these two to fill the slot in place of Abrar.
Pakistan predicted XI: Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Salman Agha (c), Hasan Nawaz, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Haris (wk), Haris Rauf/Salman Mirza, Shaheen Afridi, Sufiyan Muqeem, Faheem Ashraf.
