FAIRBURN, Georgia, Aug. 30 — The Creekside [Fairburn, GA] Seminoles lead the No. 15 DeSoto [TX] Eagles, 28-14, in the second quarter.
The Eagles will be taking on the Creekside [Fairburn, GA] Seminoles who have already played two games. The Georgians beat the Rome [GA] Wolves, 48-28, in the season opener two weeks ago, and then shut out another group of Seminoles down in Sanford, Florida, last weekend, defeating Seminole [FL] High School, 32-0.
The game figures to be more competitive than last year’s 70-0 whipping with Desoto coming out on top. DeSoto is the favorite, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if they find a more worthy opponent waiting for them in Fairburn this season. The Seminoles beat up on a Rome squad that held tough in a 28-21 loss last weekend against a Carrollton [GA] Trojans’ squad that is ranked No. 36 in our composite rankings.
Creekside was 10-3 last year playing in Georgia’s tough GHSA Class 4A ranks while DeSoto was 11-3 playing in the UIL’s top Class 6A division in Texas. Game time is set for 4 p.m. EST.

DeSoto goes for a fourth down for the second time in its own territory, and for the second time, they are stopped. Creekside turns it into another touchdown.

After the interception, Creekside drives down and scores again. They lead by two touchdowns after one quarter. And just another reminder – this is a DeSoto team that beat them 70-0 a year ago in Texas

This is a different game so far than it was a year ago in Texas. Creekside adds another touchdown, and they follow it up with their second interception of the game. We’ve got about a minute and a half left in the first quarter.
