Kim Sae Ron‘s best friend has stated the reason she died was due to the abuse from her husband in an audio recording from the day she died.
YouTuber Lee Jin Ho released two audio recordings he claims are between a staff member from Kim Sae Ron’s new agency after she left Gold Medalist “A” and Kim Sae Ron’s best friend “B”. Both conversations took place and were recorded on February 16, 2025, the same day Kim Sae Ron died.
The first conversation that begain at 9:39 pm KST on February 16 was as follows:
B: Are you okay?
A: Yes…
B: Ah…
A: What is going on…
B: Ah… actually though. I saw her yesterday…
A: You saw her yesterday?
B: Yeah…
A: How was she?
B: She was fine, we went to screen golf and grabbed a meal together.
A: Oh really?
B: Yeah…
A: Oh man… Did she say anything about when she was in the USA?
B: Perhaps it was because of the man she met in the USA.
A: Why do you say that?
B: He would hit her and create a huge fuss.
A: Really? He hit her?
B: It was physical assault. I have the pictures of his assault.
A: What kind of f***er is he?
B: He even contacted her suddenly yesterday.
A: Was there anything notable said?
B: No…
A: What is going on… Seriously…
B: He did say that no matter how many friends he has around him, Kim Sae Ron is the only person he has.
A: I see… ah the reporters are starting to call…
After about 30 minutes, a second call between the two took place starting at 10:14 pm KST.
A: Hey. The reporters keep calling. Did you see her a lot after she came back from the USA?
B: On- no twice.
A: Twice?
B: Yeah…
A: Did the guy from America say anything to you?
B: He contacted me.
A: He probably cursed you out right?
B: He cursed me out but I didn’t respond. I didn’t even message back. I really wanted to curse back but for Sae Ron… I didn’t respond but he kept contacting me with different numbers to curse at me. That was all. I haven’t spoken to him once. Sae Ron said she was so sorry to me.
B: He assaulted her and threatened her. She showed me a picture of a cut on her neck and said it was real. So I just said how she must have had such a hard time. When she first moved to the USA I lived in [redacted] so Sae Ron would come over to grab a meal and we would talk about this and that. We would occasionally talk and two days ago I went to Seoul to meet up with her.
B: But I keep talking about her husband, but this is not an official statement. But her friends all believe she died because of him. He kept making personal attacks on her and kept threatening her.
A: Really?
B: Yes. Threats… that’s what he did.
A: But you were surprised too.
B: I was surprised, I was in a call with friends when we suddenly saw the article.
B: So Sae Ron’s close friends just now gathered at her house, to go to the funeral together.
A: Where is her funeral hall? Was one secured today?
B: Wouldn’t it have been secured today?
A: Could it? It doesn’t seem like an easy task. Her mother is not picking up the phone. Will you let me know when the funeral hall is confirmed?
B: Yes, I’ll let you know
