If you were hoping to snag the man who went viral as “Myanmar’s hottest monk” for Valentine’s Day, well, you’re out of luck!
Back in 2021, Paing Takhon went viral for his dashing good looks after his photos began to circulate online. Unlike some monks, Paing wasn’t a permanent resident of the Buddhist monastery he’d entered, but rather a visitor who spent 10 days there.
In Myanmar, it’s customary for young men and boys to enter the monastery for at least a week, and many go on to become fully ordained monks.
Paing, now 28, is a Burmese actor and model. After he went viral, his popularity soared, boosting his social media following and earning him a nomination on TC Candler‘s “Most Handsome Faces” list.
Last year, Paing went public with his girlfriend, 29-year-old Linn Mya Phu, who occasionally makes an appearance on his Instagram account. The happy couple is now engaged to be married.
