Netflix will soon be airing a new dating reality show called Motae Solo But Wants To Date (working title, literal translation). A “motae solo” is someone who has never dated before in their lives. The term means “single since birth.”
The show aims to give each contestant a makeover, helping them experience a heart-warming first love. A team of “some makers,” people with a passion fo rmatchmaking, will come together to support them as a panel. This team will comprise of celebrities and experts in various fields, guiding the participants through fashion, hair, communication, and more. Post-makeover, contestants will participate in a nine-day retreat where they go on dates with one another. The show promises awkward and hilarious moments, as well as genuine emotions.
The “some makers” will be assigned to contestants to form a team. This creates an element of competition not commonly seen in dating reality shows. The show received over 4000 applicants during conception. It will air in the first half of 2025 through Netflix.
