Fans recently came to NCT Renjun‘s defense after he received hate comments.
Since before his hiatus, NCT’s Renjun has been the target of hate from some netizens. The idol’s changed appearance and an incident where he exposed an alleged sasaeng’s phone number were just two sources of the sudden influx.
Popular K-Pop Idol’s Return From Hiatus Sparks Debate
Following his return to hiatus, many hoped the hate directed at the idol would no longer be an issue. Unfortunately, this has not been the case, including a recent influx he received following an airport departure.
On January 24, KST, NCT DREAM departed from Incheon Airport, heading to Thailand for a fan event. As usual, Renjun dressed differently than the other members, wearing a cute outfit that stood out from the darker colors worn by most of the others.
The idol interacted with the staff behind media organizations but looked a bit surprised as the flashing lights of cameras went off, seeming to try to focus on just getting through the airport.
Clips of the departure were shared on X, where the hate comments appeared.

- “Renjun, what do we do with him? He’s become uglier than Kim Kisoo.”
Fans immediately jumped to the idol’s defense, mass reporting the offensive tweets. Many also expressed frustration over the continued hate, and showed support for Renjun.
