It’s official; Netflix canceled more series in 2024 than any other major streaming platform. By canceling 22 shows, Netflix also broke its previous “most shows canceled” record (16 in 2023).
In addition to these 22 cancelations, which include Dead Boy Detectives, Girls5eva, and Kaos, Netflix also confirmed via engagement reports that several K-Dramas are officially one-season series, even if there is still room for the stories to expand into future seasons.
These K-Dramas were relabeled “limited series” in Netflix’s bi-annual engagement reports. Although there can be exceptions, Netflix’s limited series typically have a fixed number of episodes and are only one season with no plans for renewal.
Business Proposal, Café Minamdang, Crash Landing on You, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Mine, My Liberation Notes, Our Blues, Siren: Survive the Island, Something in the Rain, The King’s Affection, Thirty-Nine, Tomorrow, Doctor Slump, My Demon, The Bequeathed, Welcome to Samdalri, Captivating the King, and The 8 Show are now limited series.
