Cole Palmer closed the gap on Chelsea icon Frank Lampard by scooping his latest award.
Earlier this week, Palmer was voted England Player of the Year by fans, following his goal in the Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain.
The latest accolade to go to the former Manchester City youngster is the Premier League Player of the Month award for September.
Palmer racked up four goals and five assists during the month, with all of the former coming in a stunning 4-2 victory over Brighton at Stamford Bridge.

It is the second time this year the 22-year-old has won the monthly prize and this time he emerged from a shortlist that featured Harvey Barnes, Luis Diaz, Gabriel, Ryan Gravenberch, Raul Jimenez, Dwight McNeil and Ollie Watkins.
Palmer now joins Frank Lampard as the only Chelsea player to have won the award on multiple occasions. Lampard, the Blues’ all-time top scorer, claimed four overall in his decorated career.
Head coach Enzo Maresca made it a clean sweep of the major prizes for Chelsea in September as he won Manager of the Month.
A draw against Crystal Palace preceded wins against Bournemouth, West Ham and Brighton as Maresca’s men turned the calendar unbeaten in four matches.
“We had a very good month,” he said. “We all need people around us to make things better. I’m very grateful to have all of them [his staff].
“We are always looking at new things and how we can improve from different football and different countries.”
Maresca is the first Chelsea boss to win the award since Champions League-winner Thomas Tuchel in October 2021.
