The Packers’ offense is getting back on track now that Jordan Love is healthy. But they won’t have their full compliment of receivers on Sunday against the Rams.
In addition to WR Christian Watson’s injury, the team is also dealing with a situation regarding WR Romeo Doubs that will impact this week’s game against the Rams.

Why isn’t Romeo Doubs playing this week?
The Packers suspended Doubs for one game for conduct detrimental to the team, Green Bay announced Saturday. Doubs missed practice twice this week over frustrations with his role in the offense, Sports Illustrated‘s Bill Huber reported.
“His decisions and actions during the week negatively impacted the team and required us to take this action,” Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said in a statement. “While we are certainly disappointed, we are confident that we will be able to move forward in a positive manner. Romeo is a valuable member of our team and we look forward to welcoming him back next week.”

Romeo Doubs stats
Doubs is in his third season with the Packers after Green Bay drafted him out of Nevada. Last year, Doubs played in all 17 games and totaled 59 catches for 674 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
So far this season, Doubs has started all four games for the Packers and produced 169 yards on 12 catches. Despite his frustrations, he is still second on the team in receiving to Jayden Reed, who has 336 yards and two touchdowns this season.
Packers wide receiver depth chart
Rank | Name (Status) |
1. | Jayden Reed |
2. | Romeo Doubs (Out-suspended) |
3. | Christian Watson (Doubtful- ankle injury) |
4. | Dontayvion Wicks |
5. | Malik Heath |
6. | Bo Melton |
Reed has been the Packers best receiver this year, and he will be available as the Packers travel to play the Rams on Sunday. But Doubs will be out due to the suspension, and Watson is unlikely to play after not practicing this week with an ankle injury.
Therefore, Green Bay will likely rely on Wicks to step up and play next to Reed. Wicks, who had 581 receiving yards and four touchdowns last year, has 104 yards and three scores so far this season. Melton and Heath, meanwhile, have combined for three catches and 40 yards this year as both are primarily special teamers.
