The NHL is heading to Prague for another edition of its Global Series.
An international doubleheader featuring the Sabres and Devils will mark the official start of the 2024-25 regular season. Buffalo and New Jersey are both looking to take a step forward and get into the playoff race after missing out on the postseason fun.
The Sabres in particular are desperately hoping to snap a playoff drought that has lasted more than a decade. Buffalo will rely on head coach Lindy Ruff, who replaced Don Granato, to pull the franchise out of a run of mediocrity.
Coming off a disappointing 2023-24 campaign, the Devils want to surge to the top of the Metropolitan Division standings. A key to New Jersey’s success will be the performance of star center Jack Hughes, who is one of the most impactful players in the league when he is fully healthy.

The Friday game between the Sabres and Devils will start at 1 p.m. ET, and the Saturday game will begin at 10 a.m. ET. Both games will be held at O2 Arena in Prague.
