Billlie‘s comeback teaser images have been met with heavy backlash.
At the end of September, it was announced that Billlie would be making their anticipated full-group comeback with a new album after over a year and a half. The mini album, appendix: Of All We Have Lost, is set to be released on October 16 with plans for a pre-release on October 11.
Billlie have often been praised for their creative imagery and concepts, but the thus released teasers for their new album have fallen short for fans. On October 2, the album covers were revealed, initially appearing to continue the previous streak.

However, upon closer examination, fans noticed telling signs that the images were AI-generated. One sign of AI usage is appendages, with AI images usually containing extra fingers.
One of Billlie’s covers featured a hand with six fingers, a red flag for fans.
The album’s artist seemingly confirmed the use of AI, stating she would explain why AI was used.
AI has been largely protested as it uses human artists’ work for training without permission, and is considered not to be art at all by many. Fans have criticized the usage of AI in hopes that it can be changed before the album is released.
