The Sandy Ryan vs. Mikaela Mayer main card airs at 10:30 p.m. ET. Ryan and Mayer should make their way to the ring around 12 a.m. ET, depending on how long the undercard fights last.
Ryan (7-1-1) beat Marie Pier Houle in April 2023 for the WBO title. Following a controversial draw against Jessica McCaskill to determine the undisputed champion, one where Ryan appeared to be the clear winner, she rebounded by beating down Terri Harper.
A U.S. Olympic competitor, Mayer (19-2) is a former IBF and WBO super featherweight champion, losing the belts against rival Alycia Baumgardner. After a run at lightweight, Mayer lost against Natasha Jonas in January for the IBF welterweight title.
It is Mayer’s first fight back in America since 2022. Not ready to give up her title just yet, Ryan looks to crash Mayer’s U.S. return.
“Mayer has had an awful lot to say about me and this fight, and I’m sure she will continue to do so, but I’m an athlete and a professional. I will let my boxing do my talking, and I will shine in that ring on September 27,” Ryan said. “Bring it on!”
