When it comes to K-Pop group formations, the member (or members) standing in the middle often reflects the group’s image the most.
They are usually a visual member and also integral to the group’s identity.
ILLIT has recently changed their formation, and netizens are not on board with the change.
Previously, the members would stand in an official order from left to right: Minju, Iroha, Wonhee, Moka, and Yunah.
With Wonhee in the center, she was often the first member that would be seen in a group photo.
However, ILLIT’s new formation features Iroha in the middle.
The overall order has now changed: Yunah and Wonhee occupy the ends, while Minju and Moka take the remaining spots.
K-Netizens shared that with Wonhee off to the side, the identity of the group feels different.
They also shared that as a notable visual, Minju could also be a viable center. Additionally, Yunah’s refreshing image also would work well in the center.
The center of a group is a small detail that makes a big impact on their overall image. Compare this photo…
…with this photo! The group’s aura feels entirely different, but whichever one is “better” really comes down to personal preference.
