The NFL is telling Saints quarterback Derek Carr to beat it with his latest touchdown celebration.
New Orleans dismantled Dallas in Jerry World in Week 2, handing the Cowboys a 44-19 loss on home turf. Carr threw for 243 yards, two touchdowns and added a rushing score, while running back Alvin Kamara was on the receiving end of one of those passing TDs and added three on the ground. With the win, the Saints improved to 2-0 on the season.
Carr and the potent Saints offense have the entire NFL world buzzing in the early going of the season. After struggling in his first season at the helm of the New Orleans, the 33-year-old is out to a sensational start to the 2024 season.
However, the NFL isn’t about to let Carr get into too much of a rhythm.
The league reportedly handed out a fine to the QB for one of his touchdown celebrations on Sunday, once again rolling the eyes of its fans as it lives up to the moniker of the “No Fun League.”
Here is more on Carr’s fine and the touchdown celebration that caused it.

Derek Carr fine
NBC Sports’ Mike Florio reported on Thursday that the NFL has reportedly fined Carr $ 14,000 for a Michael Jackson-inspired celebration after one of his three touchdowns against the Cowboys.
The dance involved the quarterback grabbing at his crotch — the same pose that Jackson was famous for during his concerts.
It’s not the first time the NFL has disciplined a player for the motion. Former running back Marshawn Lynch received fines during his playing days for grabbing at his nether regions after a touchdown.
The Caesars Superdome staff had some fun with the situation. Whoever controls the music played Michael Jackson during pregame warmups of the team’s Week 3 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Haha they got Mike Jack playing pregame. Great response to the Derek Carr fine

Carr punched home a 1-yard rush in the second quarter to extend the Saints’ lead to 35-13 over the Cowboys. At the time, it was his third touchdown of the day after tossing two through the air.

While Saints fans may have loved it, apparently the NFL didn’t, hitting Carr with the fine. Unless he wants his bank account to take another hit, it may be the last time we see the MJ dance out of the New Orleans veteran.
