MAMAMOO’s youngest member, Hwasa, is widely known for her headstrong attitude as an artist. It turns out, she has been a feisty one since her early days!
Hwasa recently appeared as a special guest on The K-Star Next Door, a popular YouTube show hosted by Jonathan Yiombi. Their conversation kicked off with a look back at Hwasa’s past when she was known as a “gangster who beat boys since elementary school.”
Hwasa protested, saying that back then, any girl who got angry would be termed a “gangster wife.” However, the singer also admitted that she would fight the boys in her class who were mean to her female classmates in elementary school.
She also shared the credit of being “gangster-like” with her two older sisters. “They’re quite a handful,” she recalled, adding, “I’m sure their nicknames in elementary school were gangster wives.” Thanks to having such solid backup in her sisters, the MAMAMOO singer admitted that she never lost a fight with anyone.
She recalled a specific incident where a boy in her class beat her a lot while they were fighting. Upset to see Hwasa in this situation, her elder sister went to her class and beat him up in return.
Since that day, Hwasa recalled, the boy started behaving nicely with her!
When Jonathan joked that Hwasa forced “a friendship into him,” she agreed sheepishly.
Meanwhile, Hwasa is scheduled to make her comeback on September 19, KST, with her new single “NA.”
